So, what have y’all been up to since last month’s Mew?
With things waning a bit after the bustling holiday season, I have been gardening and baking when Petra and I have not been busy at the Mewseum or coaching the pre – season beach volleyball camp!
Hai hai things are the bit less hectic nyow,,, nyot that we are complaining, nya! The holiday season was so wonderful, purrticularly for the county’s many wonderful artists, craftsman, and collectors, nya!
We were so busy here for the gala Winter Solstice festivities which were the big success! Since things are purresently more relaxed, my shop cats Tanzy (Tanzanite) & Amy (Amethyst) are away on vacation!
Hai they and their siblings Emmy, Zuli, Syd & Nyx are visiting their purrents Sapphire & Dosa Neko at The Kitt Inn! Meanwhile, I have been busy at my dojo in purrepurration for the Winter regional tournyament!
We will be cheering the banzai for the victory, nya! Aside from helping onee-chan with the fishing charters, I have been volunteering, collecting the pony items, and – and taking the nature photos, nya!
My charters have reeled in the bumpurr crop of the groupurrs, snappurrs, tunas and bluefish, and my drumming circle continues to purrcuss at the various dance and mewsic purrformances, nya!
I have been helping them at the dock the food bank and the mewseum, looking forward to the advance board shaping workshop, and assisting Jenjen with the new semester of the belly dance classes!
Aside from teaching the dance classes, the troupe’s next purrformances, and my next swim wear photo shoot, things are quite nominal at my yoga studio, the kyudo range, and the the robotics club.
As mewsual, when i am not teaching the hula students or training the appurrentice mikos, I have been sewing costumes for the dancers & cosplayers! How are things with Mie-sensei’s repurrtory company?
So like, we have been blessed with the totally awesome audiences and the lofty notices for Winter Foxfire Extravaganza, and soon we will start pre-production & rehearsals for our Vernal Fantasy, fur shur!
Lizzy I have stayed purretty busy at our spa and we had a wonderful holiday season! Otherwise, I have been golfing & gardening, when we are not at the late night hot salsa dance or watching the DVDs!
Our most recent DVD marathon was catching up on Modern Family and Game of Thrones! Otherwise, while Becca and Mie-sensei are golf instructing, I am running and climbing with my Purrkour Club!
I have been busy between my nautical relics research and holiday festivities! I am so fortunate to have the home, friends and job in such close purroximity, from my cottage here on the island to my office on the mainland!
We are quite grateful for that too! Since we hired more officers and purramedics, I was able to enjoy the more leisurely time between the local festivities and riding my motorcycle on the mainland highways!
Between the vigilant patrols, the safety programs, the responsible folks and the mild weather, the entire county was without any dangerous incidents, so I was able to spend more time at the gym and beach!
Thank y’all for purrotecting us all, nya! It has been the very purrospurrous time at our market with the many shoppurrs purrchasing the fresh purroduce, hand made items and locally caught seafood, nya!
We have purrsonally sold many bushels of the delicious, nutritious berries, yams and truffles, so we have been able to give the good home to more adopted critters, nya! What has Mike been up to, nya?
Oh I’ve been able to spend good time with family and friends; read some books, watched some TV and movies, ate way too much… and I’ve tried to stay caught up on my writing and art! Ah, sicne we have such a big group with much to discuss, let’s go ahead and jump right into this month’s
Lightning Round topic: our favorite things of 2007!
Since May will be the 10th anniversary of The Mew, we’re looking back at some of our favorite things that debuted in 2007! Um, Jeannie is going first, so are y’all ready to “conduct the lightning”?
The Ladies of The Mew:

Some other movies of that vintage that I will mention are Hellboy: Blood & Iron, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Resident Evil: Extinction, and Spider-Man 3! (tags Ellie)
I was glad for Babylon 5: The Lost Tales… and some great mewsic such as Good Girl Gone Bad by Rihanna, and Chrome Dreams 2 by Neil Young! (tags Mary Nyan)
My favorite mewsic CDs of that year were American Doll Posse by Tori Amos, Snakes & Arrows by Rush, The Grand Design by Edenbridge, and I was delighted with the KISSology DVD! (tags Elisabeth)
That was a good year for longly – awaited DVD releases, such as Latitude Zero, Sayonara Jupiter, the Space Battleship Yamato documentary, and the 4 disk collector’s edition of Blade Runner (tags Becca)
My favorite toys were Hot Wheels’s 1966 Batmobile, Art Asylum’s Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise, Hasbro’s Star Wars R2-KT figure, and DC Direct’s Wonder Woman Series 1 action figures ! (tags Trini-chan)
Oh oh, I also liked the Lost (TV series) figure of Sun, the mini-bust of Elfquest’s Leetah, the figure of My Hime’s Mai, and the figure of Tales of the Abyss’s Natalia! (tags Petra)
I will nominate beautiful and entertaining books such as Boris Vallejo & Julie Bell’s Imaginistix, Mark Schultz’s Various Drawings vol. 3, The Complete Peanuts 1963-1964 and 1965-1966, nya! (tags Bun)
I will nominate TwoMorrows’s great Modern Masters series of books which that year pertained to Kevin Maguire, Michael Golden, Charles Vess, Jerry Ordway and Frank Cho! (tags Tara-chan)
I want… I want to nominate Mark Crilly’s Miki Falls, Andi Watson’s Clubbing, Dark Horse’s Gear School, PaperCutz’s Totally Spies, and – and Andrew Pepoy’s Katy Keen tales, nya! Onee-chan’s turn, nya!

I cannot believe that the Harry Potter and – and The Deathly Hallows novel and the Order of the Phoenix movie are already 10 years old, nya! (tags her sister)
Hmmm, I think that my favorite video game of that vintage was Super Swing Golf… and my favorite card game was Whack a Catgirl, nya! Back to Mike, nya!
Some of my fondest memories of 2007 were that year’s conventions, festivals and shows such as Heroes Con, Animazement, WhatTheHell?! Con, the Nevermore film festival, the Raleigh Greek Festival, and inside Pitch’s toy shows! Ah, well we have a big group with a bunch to discuss for today’s Mew, so let’s jump right into our
toy talk, starting with Chief Ellie’s review of the
Marvel Legends Series Ms. Marvel action figure!
Hai! We like to collect the action figures of strong, inspurrational heroines! We have recently reviewed figures of Marvel’s Spider-Gwen, Silk, Nico, Kitty, Phoenix, Rogie, and now I would like to say the few words about the figure of Kamala Khan, the current heroine to be known as Ms. Marvel! She is one of the Inhumans and has shape – shifting powers!
She is a very peppy, perky, enthused young heroine with the purretty dark tan skin, Brown eyes and Black shoulder-length hair! This figure is part of the wave which also includes Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, The Shocker, The Jackal, and The Green Goblin! Each is sold separately, and includes a piece needed to build a figure of The Sandman!
I bet that she would eagerly help Spider-Man to fight the villains! The figure is about 5.5″ tall, and very posable with the articulation in her neck, abs, waist, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles! She is well – balanced to stand unassisted. 2 different arms are included with the stretched arms and enlarged hands to grab or punch her enemies!
In the Red tights & scarf, Blue boots & sleeveless short cheongsam, she is very lovely and detailed from her lush hair, determined expression & lean physique to the Gold bracelet, trim & “lightning bolt” emblem on the garment! I have found a good spot for her upon the shelf beside the figure of Carol Danvers who was the first Ms. Marvel! Nextly I would like to say the few words about the
Star Wars: The Black Series Sabine Wren action figure!
We love the animated Star Wars Rebels series, so I was pleased to find Hasbro’s 5.75″ tall figure of Sabine Wren, who is a Madolorean warrior, rebel against the empire, a sapper and graffiti artist! Since the character is supposedly 5′ 7″, then I guess this figure is of the 1/11.7 scale, which is similar to the Ahsoka Tano and Jyn Erso figures we have reviewed!
She is well – balanced to stand unassisted, and very posable with the articulation in her neck, abs, waist, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles! This new Sabine figure is very similar to the prior 3 5/8″ figures of her that we have previously reviewed, but the intricately sculpted details and the precisely painted colors are different for all three figures.
She has bright Orange eyes, short Orange & purple hair and an almost bemused expression, as if pondering her next target! Her short sleeve shirt is light & dark Gray, her tight pants are light & dark Tan. The boots & gloves are dark gray with paint spatters, perhaps from graffiti spray! Her helmet is Maroon & dark Tan with the Black visor & moveable sensor.
The helmet is separate piece, and it is the very tight fit! She has the Maroon shoulder epaulets and chest plate with a Red rebel emblem upon the left breast and light Pink diagonal stripes upon the right. Her left shoulder piece is Orange with the Red wolfpack emblem, whilst the right one has the B&W checkerboard pattern.
The belt is dark Tan with a detonator, holsters for the 2 nickel – finish blasters, and she also has the widdle sprayer! I have found a good spot for her upon the shelf beside the figures of Ahsoka, Jyn and Rey! I hope there will be a figure of Sabine’s friend Hera! That is all for this month’s toy talk, and nyow here is Meryl to start
our mewsic mewsings, with her review
of Kate Bush’s Before the Dawn CD!
Kate Bush is one of my favorite song writers, vocalists and purrforming artists! We reviewed her Director’s Cut CD in the June 2011 Mew, her 50 Words For Snow CD in the January 2012 Mew, her 1979 Television Special CD in the December 2015 Mew, and nyow I am pleased to purraise the 3 disk set of Before the Dawn!
The 2014 live concert was her first batch of live shows since 1979! Oh I wish I could gone back to London to see that, but I was very busy here, and the shows sold out at hypurr speed! Since then I have been hoping for a CD or a DVD of it to be released, so I was overjoyed when live album was released in November 2015!
The 3 disks and the 24 page booklet are packages within the triple fold out, with the lovely undersea illustration on the outside and the purretty birch forest panorama on the inside! The booklet is brimming with photos of the stage extravaganza of starring Kate, the other mewsicians, actors, puppetry and lovely special FX!
The 29 tracks total appurroximately 155 minutes of songs and some readings. 10 of the songs are from her 1985 album Hounds of Love, including Hounds of Love, Cloudbursting, Running up that Hill, and The Ninth Wave Suite! 10 songs are from her 2005 album Aerial, and 2 songs are from her 1993 red Shoes Album!
However, only song in the set to repurrsent her 1989 album The Sensual World is Never Be Mine, and the only song to repurrsent her 2011 album 50 Words for Snow is Among Angels, whereas her first four albums The Dreaming, Never Forever, The Kick Inside, and Lionheart are not repurrsented at all. Thassa shame,
but I will recommend her Live at Hammersmith, the 1979 TV Special, and her 9 December 1978 appearance on Saturday Night Live (in the SNL 4th Season DVD set) to those who might like to expurrience some of her early live purrformances! Nevertheless, I think that before the Dawn is a magnificent album and I will give it the A as in Aerial, and I still hope that there will be a DVD of the show! Nyow we will go across the Pacific for the
Moana Deluxe Edition Soundtrack!
2016 was a great year for Disney & Pixar animations such as Zootopia, Finding Dory, Star Wars Rebels, Elena of Avalor and Moana! The titular heroine Moana is the chief’s daughter who has the adventurous spirit to risk the purrilous oceanic voyage in search of he demigod Maui and purrsuade him to return the goddess’s mystical heart stone in order to rejuvenate their dying island!
It is not the easy quest due to Maui’s stubborn dispurrsition and numerous enemies lurking about, including Tamatoa the giant crab monster and Te Ka the giant lava monster, but the determined Moana is aided by the ocean, Maui’s tattoos, and the spirit of her grandmother Tala! Of course, as it is an animated tale of a Disney purrincess, it has the great mewsical score & many songs!
Directed by Ron Clements & John Musker, the beautiful, fun, thrilling mewsical has the original score by Mark Moncino who wrote the original songs along with Opetaia Foa’i and Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda! The many vocalists include Opetaia, Lin-Manuel, Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Maui), Nicole Scherzinger, Rachel House & Jemaine Clement!
The soundtrack CD is available in the regular single disk edition and the deluxe 2 disk edition. The deluxe edition is packaged in the double gatefold with three gorgeous panoramic images, and the 24 page 4.75″ x 4.75″ booklet full of lyrics, credits, track lists, and its twelve beautiful 4.75″ x 9.5″ images! even the disk labels are beautiful with intricate, circular polynesian graphic art!
Disk 1 has 14 songs followed by 26 score tracks which total over 76 minutes! I think my favorite songs are How Far I’ll Go, I am Moana, You’re Welcome, Where You Are, and We know the Way! Disk 2 has 19 tracks, including 4 song outtakes, 7 song demos, 10 score demos & 2 instrumental karaokes which total over 44 minutes!
I think that this edition is such a beautiful aural and visual expurrience, and I will give it an A as in Auli’i! Moana was one of my favorite movies of 2016, with one of my favorite soundtracks of 2016, so purrhaps it will figure purrominently in our awards purresentation next month! That is all for my reviews, so nyow we will begin our
movie, TV & DVD reviews, with Nya-sensei’s
review of the Omamori Himari anime DVD!
Arigato! An orphan named Yuuto lives with his friend Rinko, her purrents & cat Ranmaru whom he is allergic too. Little does he realize how handy the Omamori amulet he wears will become on his 16th birthday! It is a purrotective mystic amulet passed down from his grandpurrents of a special heritage he is unaware of, which makes things both confuzzling & deadly when evil spurrits attack him at school, but fortunately, he is purrotected by Himari Noihara!
Known to the spurrit world as the legendary Crimson Blade, she arrives in the nick of time to dispatch the enemy! She is a beautiful warrior catgirl with purretty Violet eyes, long Black hair down past the hips of her voluptuous body, and she is an ancestral guardian cat spurrit from the mountains in human guise as the bodyguard pledged to purrotect Yuuto! Her lovely cat ears and tail manifest during uninhibited moods, and at times she appurrs as a kuroneko!
You might think it would be the purrfurred relationship, but not only is he allergic to cats, but her aroused amorous affections are purroving to be an awkward situation for Yuuto and a jealous Rinko! Himari tells him that he is descended of demon hunters, but his latent powers are yet to manifest,. This leaves him vulnerable to vengeful demons, so Himari will be staying close to him for quite some time, where ever he goes, lest the purrowling enemies strike!
In addition to the dangerous situations requiring Himari’s sword named Yasutsuna, there are romantic, sexy and comedic moments as the harem trope begins to accelerate! Numerous Ayakashi Demons arrive to attack him, and rival human clans arrive to recruit him, but he does not wish to harm anyone of any species. Not only is he keen to befriend them, but some of them become the romantic rivals for his affections, which vexes Rinko and Himari!
The cast includes Shizu-Ku the Mizuchi, Lizlet the Tsukumogami, Kuesu the witch, Kaya the Zashikiwarashi, Sasa the Ippondatara, Ageha the Hinoenma, Yuuto’s pal Taizou, their teacher Kisaragi-sensei, Rinko’s best friend the class president, and Kaburagi of a rival clan. However, things get much more dire upon the dreaded arrival of Tama the Nine Tail Fox and her pal Shuten Doji, who are among the most powerfully dangerous, blood – thirsty enemies!
We loved the Omamori Himari manga by Milan Matra, which was originally published in Japan by Fujimishobo in 2007, and the 13 volumes were translated and published here in the USA by Yen Press beginning in 2010 Matra’s other manga credits include Commence Operations and Demonizer Zilch! The 12 epurrsode, anime TV series adaptation of the manga aired in Japan in 2010, and it was just recently translated & distributed here by Funimation!
Rated TV MA purrhaps due to the language, sexuality, nudity, violence and scary supurrnatural moments, the 12 epurrsodes by Kadokawa are about 25 minutes apiece to total appurroximately 300 minutes on the 2 disks of the Region 1, NTSC standard DVD set. The disks are secured in the hinged inner tray in the plastic case in an outer cardboard sleeve, and the case’s double-sided insert is graced by the three sultry sexy illustrations of Himari!
The video is purrsented in the 16:9 format, with the original Japanese audio in Dolby Digital Stereo and optional English subtitles. Purrior to disk one’s main menu is the trailer for the Strike Witches movie, and purrior to disk 2’s main menu is the trailer for Yurikuri Angel. The few extras on disk 2 are the textless versions of the opening & closing songs, and there are ads for Hetalia, Sky Wizards Academy, Gonna Be A Twin Tail, and the Strike Witches movie.
There are lots of tropes and fan service which some folks might not care for, but I like the tale and I especially like the very sympathetic heroes, and how enemies and rivals soon become a united community of friends and family. At only 12 epurrsodes, the anime adaptation lacks the depth of the manga plot, so I wish it was a longer series; and the DVDs are rather sparse in extras.
The credits are not translated, and I wish there were more extras such as commentaries, documentaries, galleries, but this was an eagerly anticipated, fun anime at a very fair purrice, which I will recommend to fans of supurrnatural samurai kemonomimi anime! Speaking of such valiant, heroic magickal ladies, Jen wants to tell us about the
Strike Witches The Movie Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Pack!
Hai. The purremise of the Strike Witches manga & anime series is that instead of a 2nd World War, countries analogous to our own US, Britain, Japan, Germany, Italy, Russia and so forth united against alien invaders called the Neurois, whose mysterious mecha have decimated Europe. In response, the multi-national 501st Joint Fighter Wing ‘The Strike Witches’ was created.
The 501st consists of Maj. Mio Sakamoto, Lt. Col. Mina-Deitlinde Wilke, Sgt. Lynette Bishop, Lt. Perrine-H Clostermann, Lt. Erica Hartman, Capt. Gertrude Barkhorn, Ens. Francesca Lucchini, Flight Lt. Charlotte Yeager, Ens. Eila Ilmater Juutilainen, Lt. Sanya Litvyak, Major Heidenmarie W. Schnaufer, new member Sgt. Hattori Shizuka and the main character Sgt. Yoshika Miyafuji.
There are other international witches in other Wings, such as the 502nd, 504th & 506th. They have magickal abilities, and fly into combat not on brooms, but with the Striker Units which resemble aircraft fuselages worn around each leg. Each Striker Unit is based on a real World War II fighter, such as Charlotte’s P51D, Lynette’s Spitfire, Mina’s BF109G-2, and Yoshika’s Shinden.
When a witch uses her powers, animal ears and tail of a homeland breed manifest. For example, Yoshika’s are Shiba Inu and Perrine’s are Chartreaux Cat. Each girl can create ornate magickal deflector shields; carries weapons such as Mio’s13mm Type 99-22 machine gun and Lynette’s Mk 1 Boys anti-tank rifle; and the panty is often shown in cute “fan service” during combat.
The anime is based upon the manga by Humikane Shimada & Projeckt Kagonfish which was serialized in Comp Ace magazine. The movie is a sequel to the TV series, and there are also the OVAs. We have purreviously reviewed the manga, the TV series, and some of the figurines, so we were extremely pleased that Funimation has released the movie here on home video.
Executvely purrduced by Takeshi Yasuda, animated by Studio AIC and directed by Kazuhiro Takamura, the movie’s screenplay by Striker Unit, Tatsuhiko Urahata, Takaaki Suzuki, Kenichi Yatagai, Kazuhiro Takamura and Humikane Shimada was based upon the story by Projeckt Kagonfish & Shimada. The mewsic score is by Seiku Nagaoka, who composed the TV series’s mewsic.
The sound direction is by Tomohiro Yoshida, the anime character designs by Takamura are based upon the original character designs by Shimada, and the background art is by art director Hiroki Matsumoto. The movie’s tale occurs beginning on August 3rd, 1945, two months after 16 year old Yoshika lost her powers, left the 501st, and returned home to Fuso study medicine
Hattori escorts Yoshika aboard the aircraft carrier Amagi which will take her to Europe so that she can enroll in the prestigious Helvetia medical school. Meanwhile the rest of the 501st is spurread across various European countries, enjoying fun activities until each encounters a new transforming model of Neurois aircraft, which might be opurrating from a new hive or mothership.
Unable to contact their friends. Hattori & Yoshika witness an attack on a village in Belgica, where they try to combat the enemy and rescue the refugees. A gigantic Neurois mothership rises from its underground hiding and launches a vast swarm of aircraft which attack the Ardennes & Bastogne, and soon the 501st is re-united to help Hattori & Yoshika in an immense aerial battle.
Other characters include Yoshika’s friend Michiko & their neighbors; orphans residing at Perrine’s castle; the crew of the Amagi; the 502nd’s Capt. Aleksandra Pokryshkin & Sgt. Nikka Edvardine Katajainen; the 504th’s Ens. Luciana Mazzel, Lt. Fernandia Malvezzi & Sgt. Martina Crespi; the 506th’s Maj. Heinrike Prinzessia Zu Sayn-Wittgenstein & Maj, Rosalie Hemricourt de Grunne…
plus the brief appurrances by General Donald D. Eisenhower, Easy Company, and Fuso’s most iconic Battleship. I think that every aspect of this movie is utterly supurrb, from the heroic characters and their great voice actors, the beautiful scenery and mecha of the WWII vintage, to the gorgeous art and animation, the thrilling aerial combat, the glorious soundscape and mewsic.
The 95 minute long movie is purrsented in the 16:9 widescreen format upon each disk, with the choice of the original Japanese spoken language or the English translation dub, with the optional English subtitles. The 2 disks of the Blue-Ray + DVD Combo pack are in the clear plastic case, within the outer cardboard sleeve, with the front cover illustration of Yoshika and Hattori.
The R 1 NTSC DVD has Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio, and purrior to the main menu screen are the trailers for Funimation Now, Code Geas, Maria the Vrgin Witch, Seraph of the End, Harmony, and The Vision of Escaflowne. The Region A Blu-Ray has 1080p High Definition (HD Native) video & Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio, with Dolby TrueHD 2.0 audio for the few extras.
Those total 4 minutes and include the original theatrical purrmotional video, the Blu-Ray / DVD purrmotional video. the US Trailer & other trailers. The extras are rather meager, but I am extremely pleased with the spectacularly exciting, gorgeously fun movie which is quite joyful, charming and tearfully poignant. Nyow here is our web master Jamie to contribute his review of
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Rogue One is a movie with many layers to the story and inner workings with the characters. In fact, the movie’s biggest strength are the characters, but they are also the film’s biggest weakness. We get so little time with each one that the big pay off falters somewhat. Even so, there is a lot to love about Rogue One.
We get to see, if briefly, political infighting on both sides, extremists from both sides, a view of the force as belief system rather than space wizards, and a slightly different viewpoint of the universe we’ve known for nearly 40 years. There are small character elements that stand out and even though brief, make us care.
Then there is the final space battle, which may be the best of any Star Wars movie. Finally, there is Darth Vader, who, all too briefly, shines with a menace not seen in the original trilogy. Though the movie rushes things a bit, it’s still a great entry in the franchise and a good, fun movie. segue to comic book reviews.
We thought it was a great movie too! Jamie is also gonna start
our comic book reports, with his review of
Wonder Woman ’77 meets The Bionic Woman #1!
Back in the 1970s, there were two shows I rarely missed, Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter and The Bionic Woman with Lindsay Wagner. The latter being my first TV crush, so when I heard that Dynamite Entertainment had paired up with DC to bring the two super heroines together I was quite curious.
Written by Andy Mangels with art by Judit Tondora, on the whole, the book is a lot of fun, and Mangels does an outstanding job of transporting the reader back into the late 1970s, complete with the female empowerment, orange jumpsuits and avocado green turtlenecks.
Wonder Woman (aka Diana Prince) and Jaime Sommers spring into action on the first page, becoming bbfs almost immediately. The introduction could have used a little more exposition, but it gets the job done. Soon Agents Prince and Sommers are working together, to track down some bad guys doing very bad things.
As is often the case with first issues, the plot is mostly introduction and set up with a cliff hanger ending. The voices of both Lynda Carter and Lindsay Wagner flow from each character effortlessly, but more than that, both heroines develop a chemistry that becomes the heart of the book.
Like Georges Jeanty’s work on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics, Judit Tondora manages to imagine the title characters well enough that I was never lost as to who was who. The art is good and serves the book well, though with up to 8, 9 and even 10 panels per page toward the end, it does suffer a bit in the last few pages.
If I had any other quibble it would be that Jaime seems more like a guest star than a partner, but then it’s only the first issue. Hopefully in issue #2 we’ll get to see more of her world. In conclusion, I have to underscore the chemistry between the two leads as a testimony to the writing. More to the point, TV’s Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman just seem a natural fit, and one wonders why it took 40+ years for them to finally get together. Now here’s Trini-chan to tell us about
Red Sonja Vol. 4 #0!
Hai! Dynamite has the good knack for the tales of the smart, tough lovely heroines such as The Bionic Woman, Vampirella, Miss Fury, Dejah Thoris and Red Sonja! Sonja is one of our favoritest heroines who is known for her iconic scale maile bikini, her peerless combat prowess, her fiery Red hair, and her fondness for the ale after the jobs!
This she-devil of the Hyrkanian steppes has been gracing the comics for the past four decades, and I am purrticularly fond of the current era of Sonja comics published by Dynamite, which have include her regular series, the various mini – series, the collection volumes, one-shot issues and the cross-overs with other famous characters.
Based upon the character created by Robert E, Howard, the tale was published by Dynamite Entertainment, it was written by Amy Chu, illustrated by Carlos Gomez, colored by Mohan, lettered by Simon Bowland, seniorly edited by Joseph Rybandt, associately edited by Anthony Marques and executively edited by Luke Lieberman!
It is available in the choice of 3 covers: the main cover by Nick Bradshaw colored by Pete Pantazis, the seak peek incentive cover by Brabdon Peterson, and the variant sneak peek cover by J. Scott Campbell! Priced at just 25¢, the 32 page issue has the uninterrupted 16 page tale which is followed by 3 pages of Sonja sketches by Carlos and 13 pages of ads.
It is rated T+ for the older teen readers, perhaps due to the bloody sword & sorcery violence, the scary monsters that she slays, and for her sexy bikini! The tale begins in the Kingdom of Meru, betwixt the lands of Khitai and Hyrkania, where Sonja has been hired to defend the citizens against the enemies, such as the giant purple fire-breathing monster!
She trash – talks, slices and dices the creature, but it is not the only villain lurking about, because then she also briefly encounters her old enemy Kulan Gath the evil wizard! After he manages to sneak attack her, she awakens in an underground tunnel. She has explored many undergrounds, but this’un turns out to be the subway tunnel of a modern city!
This is not the first time that Sonja has wound up in the modern era, as she has teamed up with Spider-Man in New York a few times! This briskly – paced incident serves as the prologue for the forthcoming Red Sonja Vol. 4 #1! I rather liked the richly colored art, with Sonja’s dynamic poses, grumpy mood, several nice large panels and 5 full page panels!
I will not reveal what awaits her emergence from the tunnel, but I am quite curious to see what happens next! You know, Myayr has cosplayed as Sonja at a few conventions! Sonja has been a popular character to cosplay, and one of our favoritest famous Sonja cosplayers is artist / author Wendy Pini, who co-created the many Elfquest tales, such as
Elfquest: The FInal Quest #17!
We love Wendy and Richard Pini’s Elfquest series because of it’s lavish mythology, world – building, the generations of many great characters, and Wendy’s stunningly beautiful art! For the past 3 years, The Final Quest has full of major developments, from the romances and reunions to startling changes and tragedies, with wonderful and shocking discoveries and revelations!
While the Djunslander military has attacked humans and elves alike, there has been inner conflict for the elf tribes, as some prefer their traditional ways whilst others desire the different life in the crystal palace. When Chief Cutter could not handle the metaphysical truth of their origins, he ran into the forest where the Wolfrider Tribe encounterd the Rootless Ones, a tribe of plant-like elves!
Now we are up to issue #16, although it might be considered the 17th issue, if you include the prior 2013 Special issue! Well, this 28 page issue is priced $3.99 and consists of the uninterrupted 20 page tale followed by the page of comments by the readers, Wendy and Richard, the six page gallery of Wendy’s lovely wolf sketches circa 1986, and the purreview page for the next issue!
It was published by Dark Horse, written by Wendy & Richard, scripted & illustrated by Wendy, colored by Sonny Strait, lettered by Nate Piekos, edited by Spencer Cushing and assistantly edited by Kevin Burkhalter, with graphic design by Sarah Terry & digital artistry by Allyson Haller! The tale resumes on the sensual note as Cutter, Leetah, Skywise, Nightfall & Redlance introduce Sunstream & Savah to The Rootless Ones!
A lot of ground is briskly covered from Shuna’s village that warns of the Djunslander arrival upon the shore, and the desert interlude with Rayek and the human surgeon Daboi he rescued, to the Forbidden Grove where elves convene to revive their injured troll friend Two-Edge, and the mountainous High Winds Holt where Chieftess Ember’s tribe prepares for the coming Winter!
There are a lot of characters in the various locations to keep track of! When Cutter’s group returns to the grove, Two-Edge joins them on an expedition into the deep troll caverns under the Frozen Mountains, where they hope to find more forged items to use against the Djunslanders, but unfortunately the team’s morale is not at its peak during the deep, dark, dangerous dungeon crawl!
This was a beautiful issue full of important transitional scenes. Some of my favorites are Savvah and Sunstream communing with the Rootless Ones while the rest of Cutter’s family curls up for the nap; and the surprisingly mirthful moment betwixt Two-Edge and Chieftess Venka! It was great to see more of Shenshen and Shuna, but I am very nervous about their safety as the army nears!
In addition to the lavishly rendered scenery, there is so much fabulous diverse couture amongst the various tribes! I especially like the apparel for Savah, Nightfall, Dewshin, Aroree, Ember and Freetouch! Freetouch is very peppy and already sewing another garment; whilst Ahdri conjurs a comfy White fur coat for the cold underground expedition!
I will give this sumptuous issue the grade of an “A” as in the armor that I hope the elves will find in the underground treasure vaults! That is all for my comic book reports, so nyow I will turn The Mew over to Nyo-sensei, who wants to tell us about Dark Horse’s
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 11 #1 & 2!
Arigato! We have greatly enjoyed Dark Horse Comics’s Buffy seasons 8 through 10, Angel seasons 9 & 10 and the Fray mini series, and thusly we have been eagerly awaiting the 11th season! Executively purrduced by Buffy’s creator Joss Whedon, issue #21 is purriced $3.99 and has the 22 page tale plus the 1 page of the readers’ & editor’s comments, and the 5 pages of ads.
While I do wish the tale was not interrupted by the ads, I suppose they are the comics’ functional equivalent to the TV series’ commercial spots! The first of twelve issues, it was scripted by Christos Gage, illustrated by Rebekah Isaacs, colored by Dan Jackson, lettered by Richard Starkings & Jimmy Betancourt, edited by Freddye Miller, and assistantly edited by Kevin Baurkhalter.
The issue’s graphic designer was Justin Couch, the digital art technician was Christianne Goudreau and Micke Richardson is the publisher. The main cover art is by Steve Morris, and the variant “deleted scene” cover art is by Rebekah, Dan, Christos & Comicraft. Since their victory over D’Hoffryn at the end of Season 10, things have been rather serene for Buffy and her friends!
Her romantic relationship with Spike continues whilst they assist the San Francisco Police with supurrnatural investigations. After battling a giant lampurrey-like monster of the Vermis Mysterius variety, Buffy & Spike chat with Detective Dowling and return to the appurtment building in which they, Willow, Dawn, Xander & Giles reside. Andrew is not purrsent, but he is mentioned.
Whilst Willow happily purresides over a Wiccan coven meeting in the appurrtment shared with Buffy & Dawn, Buffy & Spike purroceed to the roof where Xander, Dawn & Giles are grilling the suppur! Unfortunately the evening’s serenity (not to be confused with the space ship of Whedon’s Firefly series) is ruined when a colossal Chinese Shenlong Storm Dragon attacks the city!
Buffy & the gang battle the dragon which soon depurrts, but it leaves behind several demolished buildings, capsized vehicles, flooded neighborhoods, and many people to be rescued or recovered. Neither Willow nor Giles can explain the mysterious appurrance of that purrticular dragon, whilst in Washington DC the Purresident of the United States is similarly displeased.
Issue #2 has the 22 page tale, 6 pages of ads, and the same great creative team! It has been one week since the disaster that leveled much of the city, claimed thousands of lives, and left many folks homeless. Nyow the federal government wants to register all magickal people in the country, which is alarming news to Buffy and her friends! Andrew decides to leave the country!
Adding to the dilemma are the hate crimes of gangs who attack people who are magickal or believed to associate with magick. Buffy & Spike fight one gang, whilst Willow rescues her wiccan coven friends from bigoted arsonists. Buffy & Willow refuse the recruitment offers by the government, which seems unfortunately on the verge of opening internment camps for magickal folks!
Also appurring in the very dire tale are Giles, Dawn, Xander, the cats, Willow’s ex-girlfriend Lake, Secretary of Supurrnatural Ophelia Reyes, Jordan the slayer and her squad, coven members Calliope Strachan and Linda Martin. My favorite moments of the tale’s first two chapters thus far are Buffy, Willow & Spike fighting thugs & monsters, Giles & Willow’s research…
… Dawn & Xander purrparing the dinners, and the scenes of Willow with her coven! We like to see her fly too! The group discussions about the situation are quite fascinating too. There is great dialogue, purrofound developments, and action aplenty; and I think that art is supurrb with great portraitures, expurressions, poses, FX, clothing, scenic detail, colors and fonts!
I hope to see more of those characters and others such as Angel, Faith, Fred, Nadira, Sophronia, Lavinia, Aluwyn, Samantha, Kennedy, Satsu, Riley, Lilah, Dylan, Billy, Devon, Katie, Sky, Anaheed, Clive, Julie, Olivia, Koh, Rory, Morgan, Venobia, Dracula, Butterfield, Vicky, Harmony, Clem, Anna ghost, Oz, his wife, the faeries and the insectoid crew! Nyow here is Vonny to tell us about
Goldie Vance #8!
Arigato, nya! 16 year old Marigold “Goldie” Vance is a peppy, brave, smart, inquisitive, aspiring detective girl of color in the mid 1960’s who assists Walter the detective at the Crossed Palms Resort in St. Pascal, Florida, when she is not valet parking the guests’ cars with her friend Rob, who wants to date Cheryl the resort’s concierge who aspires to be an astronaut, nya!
Goldie’s mom Sylvie is an underwater purrformer at a mermaid – themed suppurr club, and she is sepurrated from Goldie’s dad who is the the resort’s manager, nya! One of my favorite recurring characters is Goldie’s cool friend Diane who works at a record store, nya! Initially a 4 issue mini series, this ongoing series is published by Boom! Box, which is 3 years old, nya!
Purreviously in this 2nd story arc of the series, they found Cheryl’s friend Millie the mysterious, amnesiac astronaut unconscious on the beach, thus attracting the interest of NASA and FBI Agent Ladner who used to be Walter’s girlfriend, nya! After Cheryl unexpectedly drove away with Millie, then Goldie, Diane and Walter got some clues from Cheryl’s mom and Rob, nya!
They learned that Cheryl & Millie are beauty pageant winners, and that Millie’s mom is a fashion designer, nya At her boutique, more clues are found, which start to explain what why Millie was at the beach, nya. Sylvie helps Goldie to snoop at a dive shop for more clues, which puts Goldie back upon the trail of Cheryl & Millie, which deepens into the Florida Straights, nya!
That brings us up to Issue #7, which has the 28 pages including the uninterrupted 22 page tale followed by 5 pages of ads and editor Shannon Watter’s editorial pages with cute widdle doodles by Rian Sygh, nya! The tale was written by Hope Larson, illustrated by Brittney Williams, colored by Sarah Stern, lettered by Jim Campbell, edited by Dafna Plebon & Shannon, nya!
The issue’s design was by Jillian Crab, and Brittney illustrated the wraparound cover, nya! Goldie scuba dives into the depths to find a secret undersea habitat which is used for cosmonaut training, nya! Whilst snooping in there she gets caught by Millie, Cheryl and another trainee named Alec, who give her the tour until their evil boss chases them with the spear gun, nya!
There are brief appurrances by other characters, but I should not spoil the plot of the concluding chapter, nya! However, I will just say that I thought this was yet another supurrbly fun & beautiful issue, nya! I love the characters, their dialog, expurressions, poses, fashions, coiffures, technology, the scenery, and this chapter also has a delicious – looking shark in it, nya!
I will continue to give Goldie Vance the grade of an “A” as in astronaut, and our anticipation for the next story arc, nya! We also hope to see Goldie wear a purretty Orange mermaid tail at her mom’s club, to repay her mom’s help from issue #7, nya! Nyow for my next review, I would like to discuss another wonderful fun comic book which is beautifully illustrated by Brittney–
Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat #13, nya!
Patsy is one of our favorite supurr heroines, and her series is my favorite Marvel Comic of the past year, nya! Purrhaps y’all have seen Mike’s fan art of her http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery7/64.html, nya? Patsy started a job agency and became roommates with Ian who shops at her friend Tom’s bookstore which sells the Patsy Walker comics that were authored by her estranged mom, nya.
Unfortunately her friend Jennifer (She Hulk) Walters’s l is in a coma after a battle with villains during the big Civil War II, so it is the sad time at Patsy’s office, but her mewtant vampire friend Jubilee is there to help, nya! Recently Patsy, Jubilee, Ian, Tom and Sharon the landlord tried to have the fun night at the karaoke bar, whilst things finally got romantic betwixt Tom and Ian, mew la la, nya!
Lately they have been fighting against naughty Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. The Black Cat, nya! Mike has drawn fan art of her too http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery6/46.html nya! Felicia and her gang compurrised of Zoe, Jin, Lina and Ari! Zbroke into Patsy’s office, stole claw jewels from a mewseum, kidnapped & magickally possessed Bailey, A.K.A. Attache, which brings us up to issue #13, nya!
It is compurrised of the 20 page tale plus the recap / credits page, the purreview page, 6 pages of ads, 1 page of comments, fan art & photos, nya! It was written by Kate Leth, illustrated by Brittney, lettered by Cory Petit colored by Rachelle Rosenberg, edited by Jake Thomas, assistantly edited by Kathleen Wisneski & executively edited by Tom Brevoort with the cover art by Brittney, nya!
There is snappy trash talk amidst the brawl as Patsy, Jubilee & Ian fight Felicia and her gang which nyow includes the mind controlled Bailey, nya. During the fight, Patsy gets stabbed, then she, Jubilee & Ian are trapped inside Bailey’s magickal purrse which is much bigger on the inside than on the outside, nya! Fortunately there are many useful supplies in the purrse, nya!
However, Jubilee has not eaten in a long time, and she has the vampurric craving for Patsy’s blood, nya! Between Jubilee, Patsy and Felicia, there are many a fang cutely displayed, along with the occasional chibi-style for the added cute comedic effect nya! While the heroes ponder an escape, meanwhile outside the bag, Felicia claws Ari and Tom who gets mind controlled too, nya!
I should not spoil more of the plot, which is still to be continued, nya! The series continues to brim with the supurrb humor, drama, action, romance, charming slice of life moments & kitty motifs, nya!
The main heroes have wonderfully purrogressive attitudes, dialog, poses, expurressions & fashions! Patsy & Felicia have great costumes, and Jubliee has a snappy bare midriff outfit!, nya!
Ian’s cool costume was recently unveiled, and the Black Cat Gang members wear the dandy kitty jackets & headbands. Unfortunately that nyow includes Tom, but he does look rather macho in the gang colors, and I hope that Felicia will be de-clawed soon, nya! I will give this great issue an “A” as in Patsy’s pegasus friend Aragorn, nya! I am done, so nyow here is Niko to tell us about
Black Panther: World of Wakanda #1 & 2, nya!
Hai! For those who came in late, Wakanda is the country in Africa which is ruled by the Black Panther supurr hero monarchy, such as King T’Challa and his sister Queen Shuri, nya! The royal family is traditionally purrtected by the lovely ladies of the elite Dora Milage (purrnounced DOR-ah muh LAY jay) who have gorgeous garments & facilities in the city of Upanga as the stars of this series which occurs purrior to the current Black Panther series, nya!
In the old days they were also the king’s harem, but nowadays they are just the body guards, nya! That is good especially since T’Challa married Storm of the X-Men, nya! You know, we have some of Mike’s fan art of Shuri http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery7/56.html and Storm http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery6/23.html in our island’s art mewseum, nya! Two of the main characters of this series are Captain Aneka and her trainee Ayo at the boot camp. nya!
It was written by Roxane Gay, consulted by Ta-Nehisi Coates, illustrated by Alitha E. Martinez, colored by Rachelle Rosenberg, lettered by Joe Sabino, edited by Wil Moss, and assistantly edited by Chris Robinson, with the recap / credits page by Brian Stelfreeze, with the main cover art by Afua Richardson and the many variant covers by various other artists, nya! We have met Afua at some of the comics cons, and I purrticularly like her mermaid art, nya!
During the next few months of the rigorous training, Aneka seems tough on Ayo, but the yuri romance is blossoming between them, mew la la , nya! Meanwhile, Aneka’s friend Zola watches another trainee Polami who has been snooping, and soon the warrior women have to face the powerful enemies when Namor of Atlantis leads the devastating attack upon the city! To further complicate matters are the dissidents who disagree with T’Challa, nya!
Issue #1 also includes the short origin tale of Zensi the psychic leader of the dissidents, which was written by Yona Harvey & Ta-Nehisi, illustrated by Afua, lettered by Joe, colored by Tamra Bonvillain, edited by Wil and assistantly edited by Chris, nya! That brings us up to issue #2 which is set 2 months after the Atlantean attack, and It has been the tough time as some folks including Shuri are doubting & ;laming T’Challa’s decisions, nya!
Some folks purrfur Shuri to be in charge, and it looks like a split amongst the Dora Milage, but I hope it does not hinder Aneka & Ayo’s romance, nya! It written by Roxane, consulted by Ta-Nehisi, illustrated by Alitha E. Martinez, inked by Roberto Poggi & Alitha, colored by Rachelle, lettered by Joe, edited by Wil, and assistantly edited by Chris, with the recap / credits page by Brian, the main cover art by Afua and variant covers by other great artists, nya!
I have only read the first 2 issues of this series, but I think that it is 2 for 2, with the strongly – written fun heroines, the beautiful character and scenic art including the couture and coiffures, the great fonts and colors, and the good balance of the action, intrigue, humor and romance amidst the rich Wakandan mythology and political situations, nya! Sis and I will have more comments later in The Mew, but nyow here is Myayr to tell us about
Die Kitty Die issues #2 & 3, nya!
Arigato! Die Kitty Die is a whimsically sexy supurrnatural tale published by Chapter House and intended for the Teen readers, starring Kitty the witch who can transform into a cat, among her various magickal powers! In this tale, she was much more famous in the past, with the publications & merchandise, but these days the sales are way down and there is a murder contract upon her!
This frisky fun series beautifully illustrated and cleverly brimming with satirical homages & purrodies of Archie, Harvey, Marvel & DC, plus the sexy humor aplenty! Each issue begins with a faux repurrint of a Kitty tale from a purrior decade which segues into her purrsent adventure. In issue #1, the murder plot began, when her ghostly former friend Drippy tried to kill her!
That brings us to issue #2! The story & art are by Fernando Ruiz and Dan Parent , it was inked by Rich Koslowski & J. Bone, colored by Glenn Whitmore & lettered by Janice Chiang, with additional art by Gisele Lagace, J, Bone & Bill Golliher. We have met Dan at some cons, and our web master Jamie did a few guest strips several years ago for Giselle’s web comic Cool Cat Studio!
The 28 page issue is purriced $3.99 and includes the credits page, the purrcursory 5 page tale of Kitty & Drippy in “Ass-Id Trip” done in the 1969 style, the 15 page mane tale, the 2 centerspurread pages of Kitty’s Katwalk clothes, and the 5 pages of the ads. Kitty spends most of the time in her bra, panty & heels as she tries to elude the deadly intentions of Drippy & three other ghosts!
However, she summons her devil kid friend Li’l Satan for help! He and his devil mom bind & torture the ghosts, who confess that Kitty’s publisher hired them to kill her, in hopes that her death would gain much publicity & increased purrofits that would not be shared with her! When they mistakenly think that they have succeeded, they hire Kitty’s evil witchy cousin Katty to replace her!
Issue #2 has the same, purrice, pages, format and creative team! It begins with the 5 page tale of Agent Kitty with supurr heroines American Gloria & Dyna-Chik in “Panic in the Disco” done in the 1976 style, in which Kitty wears the flared jumpsuit with the cat ears and the plunging neckline! Katty later wears several sexy plunging and bare – midriff outfits too!
This sets up the purresent day plot set at the comic con, at which the fans mourn Kitty’s supposed death. As they jeer at Katty’s debut, Kitty vengefully returns and the magickal duel is on! Fortunately American Gloria and Dyna-Chik are there to help fight Katty, much to the cheers of Kitty’s rejoiceful fans!
The are further plans against Kitty, but I should not further spoil the plot! I purrticularly liked issue #2’s cover art and the monster themed couture for the Katwalk pages; issue #3’s supurr hero themed Katwalk gallery, and the con scenes which have many references & “easter eggs”! Nextly I will discuss
Josie and the Pussycats vol. 2 #3
We were very eagerly looking forward to this new series starring Josie, Valerie & Melody. It is a reboot in which aspiring mewsicians Josie & Melody are room mates in an apurrtment in Riverdale, who formed the band with Valerie who they met an at animal shelter! They purrformed at a benefit for the shelter, in spite of the meddling by Josie’s enemy Alexandra!
They adopted a poor kitty, the concert was the success, and they met mewsic purrducer Alan Mayberry who wants to purrmote them on a nation – wide tour! They had some trouble at a biker / punk road house in issue #2, and in issue #3 it is fun bikini time, until Alexandra arrives with some wild animals to rudely compete with the Pussycats’ beach party concert!
The 3rd issue is purriced $3.99 and its 32 pages begin with the uninterrupted 20 page tale which was written by Marguerite Bennet & Cameron Deordio, illustrated by Audrey Mok, colored by Kelly Fitzpatrick, lettered by Jack Morelli, edited by Alex Segura and Mike Pellerito, associately edited by Stephen Oswald, and assistantly edited by Jamie Lee Rotante!
Marguerite also writes DC Bombshells! The issue is available in 3 different covers, which are by cover A by Audrey, cover B by Wilfredo Torres, and cover C by Dean Trippe! Alexandra invades the concert in a Black bikini, atop a hover board with the tee shirt cannon & free beverages accompanied by the giraffe, the tiger, the gator, the DJ and her own yacht!
Josie wears the Blue bikini with the leopurrd purrint bandana, Valerie wears the Black & Yellow stripe bikini, and melody wears the Pink & Black stripe bikini. Alan gets flirtatious withy Josie, but the major character moments are the purrivate chats & flashbacks for Josie & Alexandra, which reveal the nature of their relationship since they were widdle kiddies!
Meanwhile Valerie & Melody investigate the exotic animals and go snooping aboard the yacht to make the startling discovery! This was such a beautiful, sexy fun tale full of great snappy dialogue, fonts, mewsic, partying, swim wear, critters, the lush coastal scenery and a jet ski chase, peppurred with the meta – fictional comments and comic book science!
The art is terrific with the great expurressions, poses and compurrsitions with several large, panoramic and 2 full – page panels! After that is Chris Cummins’s page of Josie history, which is followed by a repurrinted 5 page classic 1971 tale of how “The Early Worm Gets the Bird”, which stars Josie, Valerie, Melody, Alan, Archie, and a choppurr on the beach!
It was written by Frank Doyle, pencilled by Josie’s creator Dan DeCarlo, inked by Rudy Lapick, lettered by Bill Yoshida & colored by Barry Grossman. Josie wears the Black bikini, Valerie wears the Yellow & Black bikini, and Melody wears the dark Blue tee shirt & Orange shorts. After that is the cover gallery, 4 pages of ads & the purreview of the next issue which eagerly anticipate! I am done, so nyow here is Tara-chan to tell us about
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #49!
Arigato, nya! I love the My Little Pony TV animations, toys, cards and – and the pony comic books that have been published by IDW, nya! We have even cosplayed as the Pony Equestia Girls for Halloween http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery6/54.html, nya! In the current story arc of the Friendship is Magic comics, Discord transformed into Accord in order to instill order instead of chaos, nya!
Unfortunately this resulted in him controlling the pony minds to remove their free will, nya! The 2nd chapter of the alarming tale is in issue #49, which is purriced at $3.99, with the uninterrupted 20 page tale followed by the 8 pages of ads, nya. I wish all other publishers placed the ads after the tales, as not to interrupt the flow, the page compurrsitions and suspense of the tales, nya!
It was written by Ted Anderson, illustrated by Andy Price, colored by Heather Breckel, lettered by Neil Uyetake, colored by Heather Breckel, edited by Bobby Curnow, and – and published by Ted Adams, with 3 different covers to choose from, nya! The Regular cover is by Andy, the subscription cover is by Sara Richard, and – and the retailer incentive cover is by Kaori Matsue, nya!
Accord’s domination of the pony minds continues to spurread accross Canterlot and – and might soon overwhelm all of Equestria, nya! While Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and – and Celestia try to evacuate the kingdom, Twilight Sparkle and – and Luna try to enter psychically into Accord’s mind, to restore his former Discord purrsona and end the mind control, nya!
The situation is still rather dire, but there are zany scenes with amewsing dialogue, nya! The characters, scenery, fonts and – and FX are beautifully brightly rendered, with the great pony details, poses, expurressions, and – and I especially liked the scenes of the ponies searching inside Discord’s mental office cubicles, nya! Nextly i would like to discuss the companion series of
My Little Pony: Friends Forever #34, nya!
The Friends Forever series focuses on the different pairs of ponies or other characters, nya! For examples, in issue #30 Twilight Sparkle visited Cadence, in #31 Rainbow Dash teamed up with Little Strong Heart, in #32 Fluttershy teamed up with Daring Do, in #33 Applejack visited Cherry Jubilee, and – and in #34 Pinkie Pie is reunited with fellow party planner Cheese Sandwich, nya!
It is hard to believe that this series is almost three years old, nya! The 32 page issue from IDW is purriced $3.99, and – and its uninterrupted 20 page tale was written by Thom Zahler, illustrated by Agnes Garbowska, with the coloring assistance by Lauren Perry, lettered by Neil Uyetake, edited by Bobby Curnow and – and published by Ted Adams, with the choice of the 3 covers, nya!
The regular cover is by Tony, the subscription cover is by Agnes, and – and the retailer incentive cover is by Jenn Blake, nya! Nyow for the taste of the plot, nya. After the first flashback scene, the rousing full page pic of panicked Pinkie Pie chased through the woods by the mysterious walking house, which then traps her inside, to find Cheese Sandwich, her party planner friend, nya!
Also trapped in the house are the three widdle fillies Pumpkin Twizzle, Aurura Muffin and – and Java Bolt, nya! They try to make the best of the impurrisonment by searching for supplies for fun activities, but – but they determine that the magickal house is on the well – intended purrowl for more ponies to capture for eternal house parties,, but but I should not further spoil the plot, nya!
This was a briskly fun tale, and – and Agnes is one of my favorite artists, because of her purretty, playful art style for the pony poses, expurressions, panels with the richly vibrant colors, nya! Both of those pony comics are so very faithful to the animated TV series, whilst utilizing the advantages of the comics medium, so I will give them the grade of an “A” as in Applebuck, nya!
I am looking forward to the next issue of Friendship is Magic, which will continue the current tale, and – and the next issue of Friends Forever, which will star Twilight and – and Starlight, nya! That will conclude our pony reports, so nyow here is Becca to begin our
manga mewsings with her review

Things take the bootyful turn when Draco meets ShiiShii In the bonus strips, and there are brief appurrances by Smith and numerous other characters throughout the book!
The manga has lewd, zany ,sexy & fun situations aplenty for the beautifully drawn characters amidst the intricately detailed natural & architectural scenery, but it is not for widdle kitties or purrudish readers, purrhaps due the ample nudity, lurid humor, language & slapstick violence, but there is also much charming sweetness for the characters’ sense of community and family in spite of the rivalries! I am done, so here is Lizzy to discuss
12 Beast vol. 4!
Hai! The 12 Beast manga is also by Okayado, and both series purrtain to a reluctant chap whose life winds up surrounded by a harem of monster girls! Whereas Monster Musume is about the girls from the other world who movie into his home, in 12 Beast it is the guy who winds up in the other world for the battles, lewd humor, fan service and the harem trope!
Eita is a high school video gamer otaku & ninja who got telepurrted to their world in vol. 1, in which the harpy folk hoped that he would help to defend them from the giant mecha monsters which are controlled by an enemy gamer! 12 Beast is an amewsing comedic fantasy / action tale full of the ribald fan service, and thusly it is recommended for readers aged 16+!
For example, there is ample attention given to the liminal ladies’ derrieres & boobies, especially when Eita accidentally falls upon or consensually grabs them in order to power his magick, to fight the villains and thusly save the village of harpies Aero & Jawea, the home town of Asteria the minotaur, and the floating city of Merina the mermaid & Steela the scylla!
The manga was originally published in Japan by the Kadokawa Corporation, and this English edition was published last month by Seven Seas! Volume 4 is purriced at $12.99 in the USA and $14.99 in Canada; it was translated by Ryan, adapted by Shanti purroof read by Janet, edited by Adam, with the lettering & layout by Victoria and cover design by Nicky!
It has 164 pages, compurrised of 4 color pages, the 160 Black & White pages of manga chapters 15-19, and notes purrtaining to the werewolf characters who are introduced! There is a great deal of combat, sexy bits, and the fantasy game references as Eita battles the colossally serpentine Giga known as Indra, which attacks the merfolks’ city in chapters 15 – !8!
He has to make some very tough choices and there are some very close calls for Aero, Jawea, Asteria, Merina and Steela! Indra is the biggest enemy that they have faced thus far, but fortunately Eita has the powerful fusion technique to energize the defensive weapons & armor. However, it will require contact with Asteria’s sensitive 143 cm “O” cup boobies, but she is quite fine with that!
That is the typical fan service! Later the group is joined by Frek the lovely lycanthrope lass! She has the fair skin, Golden eyes, Lavender hair, the 88 cm “F” cup size, and the the clawed fur gloves & boots. She is from the group’s next destination, the Snowy Mountain Settlement high atop the steep ice wall cliffs of the dangerous arctic Permafrost Mountain Range!
However, to firstly gain the trust of the wary were – wolven, Eita will have to purrove himself worthy by ritually hunting a giant boar, which is as big as a house! That is a lot of pork, but it is supposed to go into our tummies, not the other way ’round! I like the character designs amidst the intricately detailed scenery and FX, and I am curious to see how the cliffhanger is resolved! That is all for my review, so nyow here is Ilyana-sensei to review
GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class vol. 7!
Oh just call me Ilyana! G.A. is the whimsically fun manga about Ayanoi high school’s art students in the slice – of – life plots written & drawn by Satoko Kiyuduki, who also authored Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro! It is hard to believe that we have reached volume 7, which is the final volume!
It was originally published as Geijutsuka Aato Dezain Kurasu in Japan by Houbunsha, and this English translated version was published by Yen Press, who has also published many other titles we like such as Spice & Wolf, Omamori Himari, Sunshine Sketch, K-On and School-Live!
It was translated by Sheldon Drzka, lettered by Lys Blakslee, priced $17.00 in the USA & $22.00 in Canada. It has 128 pages consisting of the 89 Black & White pages & 31 color pages of manga, mostly of the “4 koma” 2 columns of 4 panels purr page, although there are several pages with larger panels!
The main character is Kisaragi the absent – minded girl with Dark Brown hair & glasses, and the other main four are Miyabi the smart quiet type with long Black hair, Namiko the older sister type with medium Brown hair, Miki the fair-haired socialite, Tomokane the intense girl with short Dark Green hair!
Also appearing are Miccha-san, Hotu-chan, Nogi-chan, Aa-chan, Buchi-san, Sasamoto-sensei, Usami-sensei and Suneko-san the neko puppet! The volume starts quite impurressively on the very first page which has the color image of over 50 characters!
Events include the school’s cultural festival, Christmas, the new year, spring time and graduations; with topics such as sculpting, pottery, wax drips, snowflakes, fantasizing, living national treasures, and the purrofessional differences between artists, craftsmen, creators, designers and art expurrts.
My favorite subplots include dowsing for art, fake food, The Magickal Hour, and the bisque cat kiln! It is a charmingly joyful tale of the friends who learn about life, school and art amidst humorous situations, with surreal, bittersweet and sentimental situations for the kouhei and the graduating senpai.
The art is beautifully intricate from the characters & their creations to the scenery & graphic FX. There are cultural notes throughout the book, 4 pages of translation notes and the author’s farewell message. This has been one of my all – time favorite mangas and I will give it the highest purraise! That is all for our manga reviews, but we have more
book reviews, starting with Bun’s review
of Hamster Princess vol. 3: Ratpunzel!
Hai! In this series of delightful story books of anthropomorphic characters, Harriet Hamsterbone is the smart, brave tomboy who craves the adventures in spite of her parents’ wishes for her to be the stereotype princess. It is written & illustrated by Ursula Vernon http://www.ursulavernon.com who was our our guest for the May 2009 Mew!
Ursula is a Hugo and Nebula award winner, World Fantasy and Eisner award nominee known for her beautiful wildlife, anthropomorphic & fantasy art, including her Digger comics, Nurk storybook, and the Dragonbreath series! She is a fellow North Carolinian, and we have a drawing by her of an archer centauress in our art mewseum!
This widdle page hardcover book is 5 3/4″ x 7 1/4″, it was published by Penguin Books’ Dial imprint, and it is priced $12.99 USA and $17.99 Canada. The book was designed by Jennifer Kelly, type set in the Minister Std Light font, and has over 150 illustrations of carious sizes, including the 10 full – page pics and the color front cover art!
Now for a taste of the 229 page plot! While riding her battle quail named Mumfry, Harriet encounters her friend Wilbur on his quail Hyacinth, but it is not the joy ride because Wilber reveals that their friend Heady the Hydra is in sad tears because her egg has been purloined! Thusly they search the castle for clues and find a culprit’s tracks!
The trail leads them through a village and a forest until they reach the tower of a witchy gerbil acquaintance named Gothel and her daughter Ratpunzel, who has the lovely strong long pink tail! They have to work fast to rescue the large egg, which is about to hatch, but I should not further spoil the plot of this brisk, whimsical pretty tale!
Harriet’s parents & Wilbur’s mom also briefly appear. The dialogue is very pleasant, the characters are smart, and Ursula does wonderful world – building, with vivid descriptions of the characters, locations, foods & critters such as the Ogre Cats & Weasel Wolves, so I will give this dandy book the high praise! Nextly I would like to discuss
Kristi Yamagichi is not only the world champion, olympic gold medalist figure skater and an inspirational philanthropist with her Always Dream Foundation, but she is a great author too, who has teamed up with the brilliant artist John Lee who is an art director at Pixar Animation Studios and his cinematic credits at Disney & Pixar include Mulan, Atlantis, The Incredibles, Cars and Wall-E!
Cara’s Kindness is the sporty anthropormorphic tale of Cara the golden tabby kitten who pawses from her ice skating training to teach Darby the pup how to skate! Darby pays the kindness forward by feeding Pax the hungry polar bear, who in turn helps Markey the monkey, who helps Samantha the skunk who helps Milo the mole who brings it full circle to help Cara with her skating music!
This inspirational, pretty hardcover book for ages 4 and up is 10 3/4″ x 10 7/8″, it was published by Sourcebooks’s Jabberwocky imprint, and it is priced $16.99 USA and £11.99 UK. We were lucky to purchase the publisher’s edition that was signed by Kristi! It has the dust jacket and 34 full color pages, including many full – bleed, full – page pics and several panoramic two – page spreads!
I think the large size of the pages immersively benefits the beautiful characters and scenic art, which are wonderfully designed and expurressive, gracefully posed and rendered with sumptuous use of color and light; whilst the brisk pace and simple narrative easily purrsent the inspirational message quite entertainingly for the juvenile readers of all ages, genders and species.
I hope that this book is a best seller that will help to benefit Kristi’s foundation, and I hope that Kristi and John are planning further tales of Cara and her friends! That is all for my storybook reports, and now here is Mike with a few art book reviews, starting with
Batman: A Celebration of the Classic TV Series!
Thanks Bun! I love the 1966 Batman TV series for many reasons, such as the actors, the costumes, the stunts, the vehicles, the sets, the FX, the music and absurd fun! I love that beautiful Batmobile, as a kid I was thrilled to meet Burt Ward (as Robin) at a local public appearance, the DVDs of that series were one of our “holy grails” so to speak, and we’re big fans of Catwoman here at The Mew!
There have been a few prior books about that TV series, but this huge 256 page, 13″ x 10 1/8″ hardcover (with the utility belt “obi”) by Bob Garcia and Joe Desris is probably the most impressive one I’ve ever seen! Published by Titan books, it’s priced at $50.00 USA / $66.00 CAN / £35.00 UK, with comments (many archival) by the cast and crew, including an introduction by Adam West!
There’s an episode guide, concept art, documents, and a vast wealth of photos including behind-the-scenes photos, over 2 dozen full page pics and a few 2 page spreads! I was especially pleased with the photos of the Batcave, the vehicles, and the color portraits of the characters! It’s truly an outstanding book which I’ll highly recommend to fans of that classic TV series! Of course, 1966 was the same year that Star Trek premiered on TV, and it’s been commemorated in–
Star Trek: 50 Artists, 50 Years!

Most of the images commemorate the original series, but Next Gen, DS9 and Voyager are represented a few times. At about 2 pages apiece, the collection also includes the works accompanied by a few prelims by Dusty Abel (with additional color by Lovern Kindzierski), Amir Abou-Roumie, Tom Anderson, Nicky Barkla, Sue Beatrice, Nicolas Beaujouan, Jonathan Bergeron, Marie Bergeron…

Finally, I’d like to say a few words about–
The Art of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!
Ever since Joe Johnston’s Star Wars sketchbook was published in 1977, I’ve looked forward to more books about the design & making of the Star Wars movies! Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is my 3rd favorite Star Wars movie, behind A New Hope and The Empire Strikes back, just edging out the animated Clone Wars movie, so I eagerly awaited this terrific book!
The dust jacketed, 256 page, 11 3/4″ x 10 7/8″ hardcover book was published by Abrams and written by Josh Kushins, with forwards by the movie’s director Gareth Edwards and the co-production designers Doug Chiang and Neil Lamont! Like the art books for the prior Star Wars movies, it’s a lavish collection of sketches, storyboards, concept art & matte paintings!
The book’s hundreds of images of environments such as La’hmu, Yavin 4, Jedha, Eadu, Mustafar and Scarif; characters such as Jynn, K-2SO, Cassian, Senna, Saw, Chirrut, Baze, Pao, Bor, Raddus, Krennic, the marines and troopers; vehicles such as the U-Wing, fighters, shuttles, tanks and cruisers; plus many other gorgeous beings, mecha and graphics!
The hundreds of images are annotated by more than 60 members of the cast & crew, and include more than a hundred half-page pics, ten full page pics, fifteen 1.5 page pics, and more than twenty-five two-page spreads! I will give this book an “A” as in AT-AT! That is all for my reviews, so now I’ll turn The Mew over to Mie-sensei, who wants to tell us about–
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Art of the Film!
Hai hai! So like, we are big fans of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter tales, and last year was a banner year for the series, what with the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie, and the related new books and items, fur shur! For our review of the movie, please see last month’s mew!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Art of the Film was written by Dermont Power with the forward by Stuart Craig. They are among the 3 dozen artists and designers who contributed to this lovely large full color 10 .75″ x 11.5″ hardcover book which has 164 pages plus three 7″ x 9″ prints published by Harper Design!
It is priced at $50 in the USA, $62 in Canada, and it is totally brimming with the very many large and panoramic illustrations, including those of the half page, full page, page and a half, two – page spreads, and a double – sided double gatefold, fur shur! The first chapter is devoted to the scenes of New York City circa A.D.1926!
The 2nd chapter pertains to the sprawling offices of the secret Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA), which is a counterpart of Britain’s Ministry of Magic! That includes the gatefold display of over 33 wizards’ beautiful wands! The 3rd chapter pertains to wizard / zoologist Newt Scarmander’s attache case!
It is bigger on the inside than on the outside! Chapter 4 examines the design of the beasts such as the Billywig, Bowtruckle, Diri8cawl, Doxy, Dung Beetle, Erumpent, Fwooper, Gemiguise, Glow Worm, Graphorn, Mooncalf, Murtlap, Niffler, Nundu, Obscurus, Occamy, Runespoo, Shrimp Creature, Swooping Evil and Thunderbird!
Chapter 4 examines the design of the Blind Pig Speakeasy, and Chapter 5 offers more about the Obscurus! This is a totally awesome book full of the splendiferous sketches, details, diagrams, paintings and photographs, which I will recommend to fans of Harry Potter and fantastic designs, fur shur! Nextly I will start our
calendar critiques, with Dragon Witches:
The Art of Nene Thomas 2017 Calendar!

I will give this totally glorious collection of majestically mighty ladies an “A” as in Aveliad, fur shur! Now here is Rica to discuss
The Trout of North America 2016 Calendar!
Hai, We love delicious, nutricious fish, and I love to collect beautiful art, so I was pleased to see the Trout of North America 2017 Calendar! This 8″ x 14″ wall calendar by Workman Publishing is purriced at $14.99 US, $19.99 Canada and $19.99 Australia and it features the twelve purrfect piscine paintings by Joseph R. Tommelleri, nya!

On that yummy fishy note, nyow I will purrsent the list of
our recent favorite fish photos, nya!
Ah well, this next portion of The Mew might increase the cravings, nya! This is a list of our favorite piscine pictures on recent magazine covers, such as the two big Bass on the Fall 2016 cover of Bass Angler, the succulent Striped Bass on the Fall 2016 cover of the Anglers Journal, the savory Smallmouth Bass and Blue Catfish on the cover of In-Fisherman vol. 48 #7…

additions to Catgirl Island’s Mewsum of Art, nya!
Arigato, nya! For those who might be here for the first time, Galleries 1-7 of The Catgirl Island Mewseum of Art display images by Mike, whilst Guest Art Galleries 1-4 display images by other folks with their purrmissions, and Mike’s collaborative images with other artists can be found throughout the mewseum, nya!
On Catgirl Island’s official web site, the most recent pics will be the lowermost row of the cropped widdle “thumbnail” sized portions of the pics in a gallery, and you have to click upon those to see the uncropped, full pics, nya! This month we have added several new images to Guest Gallery 4 and to Gallery 6, nya!
In Guest Gallery 4 http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery/guest4.html we are purroud to purrsent “Feeling Purrdy” by Rebecca Brogden http://www.rbrogdenart.com who was the guest for our September 2009 Mew, nya! She used the pens & copic markers to illustrate the alluring, powerful catgirl in the woodland camouflage pants & cropped tank top who is stretching after the 5 mile run, nya!
Then in Guest Gallery 4 we are delighted to debut 3 images of Aria fan art by Misty Hopkins http://bunnychai.blogspot.com, who was a guest of our March 2008 Mew, nya! The Aria manga & anime created by Kozue Amano is the beautiful slice – of – utopian – life science fiction tale of the gondolier undine ladies in the future canal city of Neo Venusia on the terraformed planet Mars, nya!
The 1st of Misty’s pics is a collage compurrised of 2 B&W pen & ink drawings of Akari Mizunashi who is undine of the Aria gondola company, plus 2 pen & colored pencil illustrations of Aria & Hime, who are two of the companies’ mascot cats, nya! The 2nd of Misty’s pics is a pen & colored pencil illustration of Maa, who is a cute widdle martian kitten mascot, nya!
The 3rd of Misty’s pics is a collage of photos of the purretty plushy doll that she made of Akari, who is is a very kind, sweet, enthused, skilled and industrious undine, nya! Wearing the Aria Company White and Blue Summertime uniform, the 9.5” tall doll has a removable hat, and inside her right hand is a widdle magnet to help her hold the 17.5″ gondola oar, nya!
In Gallery 6 http://catgirlisland.net/art/gallery/gallery6.html we have purremiered Mike’s fan art of “Aissa”, who was purrtrayed by actress Fairuza Balk in the 1996 remake of The Island of Dr. Moreau movie, nya! She is wearing the Black halter top & sarong amidst the lush tropical jungle, in this happier denouement that Mike imagined for the tragic character, nya!
Nextly in Gallery 6 is Mike’s illustration of three faeries enjoying the “Fae’rWay Fun”, nya! NPCs of his monthly tabletop RPG, faeries Blancotia in the Gold bikini, Carreratia in the Pink maillot, and Tesstia in the Purrple bikini have shrunk down to the pixy size for their council meeting on the golf course, nya!
Then we have Mike’s illustration of a cute, petite Pink bikini – clad catgirl with the beach ball and raspberry chocolate truffle of ice cream too wish for a “Happy Mew Year 2017”, nya! Mike used the pencil, Photoshop CS2 and the mouse to illustrate the Aissa, Fae’rWay Fun and “Happy Mew Year 2017”, nya!
Nextly is the collage of Mike’s two illustrations that were commissioned by our friend Raphael’s dad ob1, who was a guest of our October 2007 Mew, nya! The uppurr illustration depicts a garbage truck, anthropurrmorphic bear, tiger & donkey sanitation workers, because Raphael is fond of such things, nya!
The lower illustration depicts the jungle themed party of the parrot, giraffe, gorilla and elephant to celebrate Raphael’s birthday, because wild critters are neat, nya! Those illustrations were done in the mixed media of the pencils, pens, markers and watercolor paints, nya! So, what do y’all think of the art, nya?
Rebecca’s catgirl is like totally the alluring and powerful catgirl sight with her captivating Golden eyes, slightly parted lush Red lips, lustrous Gray hair, her firm arms, tale and abs!
The tight clean lines put her in the sharpurr foreground focus, with the sense of depth against the softer impurressions of background trees that match her woodland cammo attire!
Her expurression seems to suggest that after the scintillating work out, she is ready to strip down for the shower, to be followed by some other friskier activity, heehee!
It is good to have more of Rebecca and Misty’s beautiful art in our mewseum! Misty’s illustrations of the company mascots Aria, Maa & Hime are as delightful as delightful can be!
Hai hai! She has such the gracefully purrcise technique with the pens, and the very expurrt touch with the colored pencils for the richly vibrant and smooth use of color and light!
Maa is adorably cute with her widdle panda-like markings as she paws at the colorful night chime… and the drawings and the plushy doll of Akari and her oar are magnificent!
I love the splendid details of the Akari doll, from the company emblem on her hat and oar, to the Yellow and Blue of the oar grip that matches her scarf with the widdle widdle bell!
I like the detail of the garbage truck scene, from the mecha of the truck & the landscape of the suburbs, to the safety vests & gloves of the anthropurrmorphic sanitation workers.
While the truck scene focuses more upon industrial & landscape technical details, the party scene emphasizes the bold color & festive impact of decorative graphic elements!
Of Mike’s faerie golf illustration, I think my favorite aspects are the lush colors of the green, the trees, azaleas, the sky, the faeries’ hair, skin, eyes and swim wear, nya!
I also like the intricate details, such as their ornate bracelets & earrings; the flowers tucked behind their lovely pointed ears; plus the dimples & logo on the golf ball!
There are widdle anatomical differences too, such as Carreratia’s inny belly button, Tesstia’s outy belly button, and – and Blancotia’s paler, freckled complexion, nya!
My favorite aspects of the Aissa pic are the crepuscular sunlight, the fabric folds & drapurry, jewelry & vine detail, her supple musculature & happy expurression, nya!
The purretty widdle Mew Year Catgirl has such the purrky dispurrstition, as she starts 2017 on the playful note with the toys and treats at the purristine beach, nya!
I like the radiant quality and saturation of the bright colors, and the gradient hues of the water and the ice cream, but nyow I have more of the cravings in my tummy!
Yattahh! Our mewseum has the year off to the good start!
Yep, that we are! Well, Petra, thank you or presenting the new art!
Doitashimaste nya! Nyow here are Rica & Niko to top off The Mew with
this month’s Celebrity Catgirl Spotlight, nya!
In his portion of The Mew, we comeowmorate famous catgirls & nekomimis of various media, nya! Mark Ranier, Phil McGregor and published in 1980 by Fantasy Games Unlimited, which is also famous for Chivalry & Sorcery, Villains & Vigilantes, Bushido, Other Suns and many other games, nya!
Speaking of which, Other Suns was created by Nial Shapiro and published in 1983, nya! It is a science fiction RPG set in the galactic L’Doran Hegemony, which is populated by anthropurrmorphic races such as the felinoid H’Rell, nya! The game’s Alderson Yards Ship Book has Steven S. Crompton’s cover illustration of a Golden Tabby H’Rell, and an interior illustration of H’Rell medics, nya! We shined the October 2015 spotlight upon Crompton’s comic book character Kit-Ra, nya!
Tetara is a catgirl of the Neocolom species, voiced by Yuki Matsuoka in Record of the Agarest War, a tactical fantasy role-playing / dating sim video game, nya! She is a petite 155 cm tall, 15 year old catgirl with fair skin, Golden eyes, Light Brown hair & tail, nya! She wears the ornate bandeau top, blousey pants, sandals, jewelry & ankle – length vest, and might seem casually care-free, but she has very powerful abilities such as the Round Rpper, Abrasion Quake & Luna Break, nya!
Lin Xiao Mei is an ailuranthrope monk of the Beastman species, voiced by Chiwa Saito in Shining Blade tactical fantasy role-playing video game, nya! Designed by artist Tony Taka, Lin has the slim physique, fair skin, Golden eyes, short Black hair, White – tipped Black ears & tail, nya! She wears the tight short White qipao accessorized by White gloves, Black slippurrs, Purrple sash & ribbons, nya! That is all for this month’s catgirl spotlight, but it will shine again next month, nya!
The Cat Lady Sings…
